General Meeting

March 2004 at Kent Ridge Guild House
The
35th SNIC AGM took place at the NUS Guild House on 21st March
2004, and was charged with opening new visions and directions
for SNIC, before cumulating into a dinner of fun and meaningful
discussions.
45 members witnessed the election of new Office Bearers.
The
composition of the new Council (2004/2005) is:
President: Prof. Andy Hor Tzi Sum
Vice-President: Mr Yeoh Guan Huah
Hon. Secretary: Assoc. Prof. Loh Teck Peng
Asst. Hon. Secretary: Assoc. Prof. Leong Weng Kee
Hon. Treasurer: Asst. Prof. Chin Wee Shong
Hon. Asst. Treasurer: Asst. Prof. Lam Yulin
Council Members:

Prof. Leung Pak Hing
Dr. Peck Thian Guan
Assoc. Prof. Richard Wong Ming Wah
The 2003/2004 SNIC Council made a significant amendment to the
constitution to remove Licentiate, Graduate, Affiliates &
Corporate Fellows categories. The aim is to streamline the membership
categories to current requirements. There were no objections to
the amendments.
SNIC
has been very active the past year, including the 3rd Singapore
International Chemical Conference. Click Here

Prof
Andy Hor, President of SNIC, also spoke of significant achievable
milestones, mainly -
To bring SNIC onto the international arena through interactions
and co-operations with international societies, and in areas of
international benchmarking and tapping on prominent visiting scientists.
In
terms of public awareness, the President highlighted SNIC's role
in providing public
lectures, prizes & awards, models and mentors and cross-organizational
activities as the key
areas he hopes for the society to work towards.
Thank you to the 2003/2004 Council for the past year of service
to SNIC.
