Scope
of Activities
- Holds
professional meetings, seminars, symposiums, talks, congress
and exhibitions and publishes newsletters and a bulletin.
- Provides
encouragement by awarding gold medals and book prizes to outstanding
chemistry students at the National University of Singapore.
- Promotes
chemical education by organizing talks on Chemistry and Chemistry
related Contests for secondary students.
- Serves
the nation by participation in activities in such public bodies
as SPRING Singapore.
- Joins
interdisciplinary efforts to promote sciences as founding member
of the Singapore National Academy of Science and to contribute
to community services through its membership with the Singapore
Professional Centre.
- Maintains
contact with fellow chemistry institutes elsewhere, in particular
the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry
and The Federation of Asian Chemical Societies.
