Ice Floating On Water

Ice floats on water because of hydrogen bonding. Because of hydrogen bonding, the water molecules are squeezed close to one another while the ice has diamond structure. Therefore, there is more space in ice than water. So ice float on water! We see this in everyday of our life.

Chemicals

These are chemicals (chemistry) that we mostly use in our daily lives and so it fits the theme. I chose brightly coloured products so that the photo is interesting and eye-catching and not dull. The way they are arranged and the blur effect makes the photo more artistic and different.

Solid That Floats

Ever wondered why ice floats on water? It is actually caused by the molecules in ice. While the molecules in water are closely packed, they are not as closely packed in ice. This makes ice less dense than water hence able to float on water.

Soap In Daily Life

Soap is important because we use it to remove oily stuff. It helps to bind with the non-polar oil and then it is removed with the addition of polar water molecules.

Blessing or Curse?

Medicinal pills can kill pain in an instant or temporarily, but it is still a question if this chemically formulated cure is all of good. The other side of these pills could be of negative effects like people who use it as drugs or suicide.

A Chemical Part of Me

This picture focuses on my favorite perfume. It has become a part of me and I must have it everytime I go out. Chemistry is not all about mixing unknown chemicals to produce medicine or things stereotypically thought. Perfume, which is part of beauty, is also made by artificial chemicals.

Droplets

Of what looks To Be Crystals. Water droplets are formed on the side of the cup filled with Ribena and ice cubes after the ice cubes are melted due to room temperature.

The MILO Emulsifier

An egg cracked into the cup of Milo causes emulsification to takes place. The egg yolk acts as the emulsifier to emulsify the milo powder and the water, such that the milo powder will not easily settle to the bottom of the cup.
