Dr. Andreas Fechtenkoetter studied in Germany and the USA and obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the Max-Planck-Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany. He joined the BASF Polymer Research Department in Ludwigshafen, Germany in August 2001. After two years of research he transferred to one of the BASF Performance Chemicals marketing units, a position he held for 2.5 years. Currently, he is the Department Head for the Competence Centre for Nanostructured Surfaces, BASF South East Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore that was opened in April 2006. Dr. Fechtenkoetter is the author of more than 40 research publications and patents.
