Andy Hor Tzi Sum - President (elected 2003)

Prof. Andy Hor is the Head of Department of Chemistry, NUS. He is on the international advisory board of Inorg. Chim. Acta (Elsevier) and Chem. Asian J. (VCH-Wiley). He has published >190 papers in international publications and delivered over 150 oral presentations. He joined NUS in 1984 after getting his B.Sc.(Hon) from Imperial College, D.Phil. from Oxford University and postdoctorate in Yale University. He was conferred D.Sc. by London University. He held a string of prestigious fellowship such as Humboldt (Munich, Muenster), Wilsmour (Melbourne), Anthony Mason (UNSW), ASAIHL (HKU & CUHK), etc and visiting professorship (such as Strasbourg, Muenster, Sydney, Melbourne etc). He is a member of the American Chemical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK). He is married to Beng; they have three girls – Carys, Dilys & Eilis.
