Dr. Zhou Weibiao - Council Member
Director of the Food Science and Technology Programme, NUS


Associate Professor Zhou Weibiao is the Director of the Food Science and Technology Programme at NUS. He obtained his Bachelor of Science from the Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Master of Engineering from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (alias Academia Sinica) in Beijing, and PhD from the University of Queensland, Australia. He did his post-doc at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Over the years, he also held visiting appointments at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, Ecole Nationale Superieure des Industries Agricoles et Alimentaires (ENSIA), France and BRI Australia Ltd. He was an associate professor in the University of Western Sydney, Australia prior to joining NUS in 2001. He has published over 130 scientific papers in international refereed journals and conferences and book chapters. He serves on the international editorial boards of International Journal of Food Engineering (USA), Food Manufacturing Efficiency (UK), International Journal of Food Properties (USA) (Associate Editor), and Food and Bioprocess Technology (USA). His research interests are in the area of food engineering and food processing. He is also a council member of the Singapore Institute of Food Science and Technology (SIFST).
