The Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (SNIC) was established in March 1970 as a national body for the chemical profession in Singapore.


Exploring the Frontiers: Emerging Materials and Technologies Symposium (EmMAT'23) is a collaborative endeavour led by several esteemed research organisations and institutions. The objective is to serve as a platform for researchers, scientists, engineers, and innovators to come together and explore the latest advancements, share knowledge, and discuss the potential of emerging materials and technologies in various fields. Singapore Junior Chemistry Olympiad (SJChO) 2023 is a competition organised by SNIC in partnership with IMRE, ISCE2, NUS, NTU, SUTD and supported by the Ministry of Education (MOE). Click here for details of the competition.

Chemistry National Meeting Singapore (ChmnSG) is an annual meeting to bring the local community together to discuss the development of chemistry in Singapore. Click here for more information on the conference.

  • SNIC-AsCA2019 Singapore Award for the year 2023 are awarded to Professor Liu Xiaogang (NUS) for the Solid-State Chemistry & Materials award and Professor YANG Hui Ying (SUTD) for the Distinguished Woman Chemist award. Read more about it here.
